While it may seem long or monotonous to some but to me it’s a great way to an adventurous lifestyle.Unlike some other jobs, there is no one constantly watching or keeping a check, although there are dispatchers keeping a check on their schedule to ensure timely delivery. So its not complete freedom but it offers a lot more compared to most other jobs.
Along with the freedom to roam in the open roads, a truck driver also has a lot of job security, in the sense that his job can not be outsourced to another country. Its importance to the economy can not be undermined. Just imagine what would happen if the food supplies to the various shops and retail outlets was to come to a halt. If you think about it, this job is in huge demand as every kind of work requires some kind of logistics and supply management and a lot of the supply part has to bank upon the transport industry. So you can say that a potential truck driver will almost immediately be absorbed.
