Truck driving industry is one of the strongest ones at present. With a persistent boom in the economy trucks and truck drivers are having a great demand. While driving on a highway chances are that you will move cross more trucks than cars. Even the goods that are to be transported through air or ship have to move on a truck to reach the airport or the dock. So with such a boom in the trucking industry the drivers are being paid handsomely.The truck drivers have to keep in mind a lot of things before leaving for their destination. The long journeys that they are required to cover up bring an obligation on them to make a routine check up of their truck before leaving. They need to check the fuel, brake oil, gear oil, brakes and various other things before leaving the terminal or the warehouse. The tires are required to be thoroughly checked along with the windshield wipers. The safety instruments should be all functional and in proper condition. If any discrepancies crop up it is too reported to the warehouse and his transporting agency so that a track of such problems can be kept. The truck drivers are seated at a level higher than the other cars while driving and this gives them a heightened responsibility. So they should be alert of the road condition and should take care to check any unnecessary noise coming out of the vehicle driven by him or any surrounding vehicle.

The driver should be aware of the type of merchandise he is transporting. If the goods are of perishable nature then it is required to be delivered strictly within the schedule he is given otherwise there may be a loss of the product he has transported. Also if the goods are of combustible nature then care must be taken that there is not much jerking while driving.

These facts should be given due importance to avoid breakdown of the vehicle and also to avoid accidents.
